What Backstride stores about you, why, and what it never does.
Updated
Backstride keeps as little about you as it can and still work. This page lists all of it.
What we store
- Your account: your name, your email address and a hash of your password. We never see or store the password itself.
- Your sign-in sessions: a session record with the IP address and browser it was opened from, so a session can be checked and ended.
- What you make: your backtests, the sessions you play and their trades, your journal notes, and your settings, such as your display time zone.
Your backtests, sessions and notes are yours alone. No other account can see them.
Cookies and your browser
We set one cookie, the session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts on the site.
The terminal remembers the last order size you used on each backtest in your browser's local storage, so the ticket opens the way you left it. It never leaves your device.
Market data
Price history comes from a market data provider. Requests for bars name a market and a time range, never you. The bars we fetch are cached and shared across all accounts; they contain no personal data.
What we never do
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your trades or notes for anything but showing them back to you.
Deleting your data
You can delete your backtests, and every session and note in them, from the platform at any time. To close your account and remove everything tied to it, contact us and we will delete it.
